Part 1
Installing on Meta Quest (Native APK)
The APK is the standalone version of Quacking Dynamics that runs directly on the headset, with no PC required during use. The PC is only needed to run the credentials server.
Prerequisites
| Item | Requirement / Detail |
| Meta Quest Headset | Meta Quest 2, 3, 3S, or Pro with up-to-date firmware |
| PC / Mac | Required to sideload the APK via SideQuest or ADB |
| USB-C Cable | Data-capable cable (not charge-only) to connect headset to PC |
| SideQuest | Free tool available at: sidequestvr.com/setup |
| APK File | QuackingDynamics.apk — provided by your administrator |
Step 1
Enable Developer Mode on the Headset
From the Meta app on your smartphone:
- Open the Meta app (formerly Oculus) on your phone.
- Go to Menu → Devices and select your headset.
- Navigate to Headset Settings → Advanced Settings.
- Enable Developer Mode.
⚠ You need a Meta developer account. If you don't have one, register for free at: developer.oculus.com
Step 2
Install and Set Up SideQuest on Your PC
- Download SideQuest from sidequestvr.com/setup
- Run the installer and follow the setup wizard.
- SideQuest will automatically install the required ADB drivers.
- Connect the headset to the PC using the USB-C cable.
- Put on the headset and accept the "Allow USB Debugging" prompt. Check "Always trust this computer".
💡 If SideQuest detects the headset correctly, you will see a green indicator in the top-left corner of the app.
Step 3
Install the Quacking Dynamics APK
- In SideQuest, click the folder icon (Install APK file from folder on computer).
- Browse to the QuackingDynamics.apk file and select it.
- Wait for the progress bar to complete (30–60 seconds).
- You will see the "APK installed!" message when it finishes.
Step 4
Open the App on the Headset
Apps installed via APK appear in the Unknown Sources section:
- From the headset home menu, go to App Library.
- Tap the dropdown filter in the top-right corner and select Unknown Sources.
- You will see Quacking Dynamics in the list. Click to open it.
💡 Tip: Pin the app to Favorites for quicker access. Long-press the app icon and select "Add to Favorites".
Step 5
Launch the Quacking Dynamics Server on Your PC
The server is required for the headset app to connect to the platform and load your 3D models.
- Open QuackingDynamicsServer.exe on your PC.
- Enter your platform login credentials (username and password).
- Click Connect. The server will display "Online" when the connection is successful.
- Make sure the PC and the headset are on the same Wi-Fi network.
⚠ The server must remain open throughout the entire session. Closing the server will disconnect the headset from the platform.
Step 6
Use Quacking Dynamics on the Headset
- Open Quacking Dynamics from Unknown Sources.
- The app will automatically detect the server on the local network.
- Log in with your platform credentials.
- Access your generated 3D models and explore them in the VR environment.
Part 2
PC VR Mode with Meta Quest Link
Meta Quest Link lets you use the headset as a PC VR display, running the Windows version of Quacking Dynamics with higher graphical quality and processing power.
📡 There are two connection methods:
Cable (Quest Link): maximum stability and zero latency. Recommended for professional use.
Wi-Fi (Air Link): wireless. Requires a Wi-Fi 6 or 5 GHz low-latency router on the same network.
PC Requirements for PC VR
| Item | Requirement / Detail |
| Operating System | Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) |
| Processor | Intel i5-4590 / AMD Ryzen 5 1500X or better |
| RAM | 8 GB minimum (16 GB recommended) |
| Graphics Card | NVIDIA GTX 1060 / AMD RX 480 or better |
| USB Port | USB 3.0 for wired Quest Link |
| Meta Software | Meta Quest Link desktop app installed |
| Network | Wi-Fi 6 or 5 GHz for wireless Air Link |
Method A — Wired Connection (Quest Link)
Step 1
Install the Meta Quest Link App on Your PC
- Download Meta Quest Link from: meta.com/quest/setup
- Run the installer and complete the setup.
- Sign in with your Meta account.
Step 2
Connect the Headset to the PC via Cable
- Use the USB-C cable included with the headset (or a high-quality USB-C 3.0 cable).
- Plug one end into the PC and the other into the headset.
- Put on the headset and accept the "Allow Data Access" prompt.
- In the dialog that appears, select Enable Quest Link.
⚠ If the PC does not detect the headset, try a different USB port or a powered USB 3.0 hub. Avoid low-quality charging cables: they may not have sufficient data bandwidth.
Step 3
Enter the PC VR Environment
- Once connected, the headset display will show the Meta Quest Link PC desktop environment.
- In the Meta Quest Link app on the PC, verify the headset shows as Connected.
- The PC VR environment will be active: you will see your PC virtual desktop inside the headset.
Step 4
Launch Quacking Dynamics (Windows Version)
- From your PC (visible through the virtual desktop in the headset), open QuackingDynamics.exe.
- Make sure QuackingDynamicsServer.exe is also running.
- The application will start automatically in VR mode inside the headset.
- Log in with your credentials to access your 3D models.
Method B — Wireless Connection (Air Link)
Step 1
Set Up Air Link on the Headset
- With the headset on, go to Settings → System → Quest Link.
- Enable the Air Link option.
- A list of available PCs on your network will appear. Select your PC.
- On the PC, accept the pairing request that appears in Meta Quest Link.
💡 For best Air Link performance:
• Connect the PC to the router via Ethernet cable (not Wi-Fi).
• Use a dedicated 5 GHz or Wi-Fi 6 band for the headset.
• Minimize the distance between the headset and the router during the session.
Step 2
Adjust the Wireless Streaming Quality
In Meta Quest Link (PC), you can adjust the streaming bitrate:
- Go to Settings → Graphics in Meta Quest Link.
- Adjust the Bitrate based on your network quality (recommended: 150–200 Mbps for Wi-Fi 6, 100 Mbps for standard 5 GHz).
- Lower the resolution if you experience stuttering or high latency.
Step 3
Launch Quacking Dynamics
- With Air Link active, your headset display will show the PC virtual desktop.
- Open QuackingDynamics.exe from the PC.
- Make sure QuackingDynamicsServer.exe is running.
- The application will launch in VR mode inside the headset.
